Today is a big day for Aleksa Đurić from Vlasenica and Dejan Pejašinović from Prnjavor, since they are among 159 cadets of the 144th and 145th class of the Military Academy in Belgrade, who are being promoted to the youngest officers of the Serbian Armed Forces, during the official ceremony held in front of the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
Aleksa and Dejan were admitted to the prestigious academy in Belgrade as the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, where they would continue to work, in the rank of the junior inspector of the Ministry instead of the obtained military rank of second lieutenant.
The two officers went to Belgrade from Banja Luka, where they completed the basic police training at the Police Academy in 2019.
The graduates of the High School of Internal Affairs attended the promotion, along with the heads of police administrations of Banja Luka and Zvornik, Đurica Vukelić and Aleksandar Vasiljević, with their associates.
Aleksa, who completed the study programme of ”Management in Defence”, the module ”Artillery”, said that he had mixed feelings during the promotion to the rank of an officer and that he was still not fully aware that his education ended.
”When it comes to my motivation to complete my education and choose this profession, some of the members of my family who worked in the Ministry of the Interior were my role models. I think that every man, at some point of his life, dreams of enrolling the Military Academy and becoming an officer”, said Aleksa.
His colleague Dejan Pejašinović, who completed the study programme of ”Management in Defence”, the module ”Infantry”, said that he was proud of himself, since he managed to fulfil the goals he had set.
”My motivation for education at the Military Academy was to improve and further develop my professional career and I am satisfied with the level of education I have reached”, said Dejan.
He said that it was not difficult for him and his colleague Aleksa to get used to the Military Academy, since there were similarities between the life and work at the Ministry of the Interior and the Military Academy.
During the education, he also found the time to marry and get a son, with his female colleague, who is now employed with the Ministry of Defence of Serbia.
Seven members of the RS MoI have completed the education at the Military Academy so far, and ten more are currently attending the studies at this institution.
