THE CEREMONY OF MARKING THE 32ND ANNIVERSARY OF ESTABLISHING THE 4TH DETACHMENT OF THE SPECIAL POLICE BRIGADE

Today, in Bijeljina, the 32nd anniversary from establishing the 4th Detachment of the Special Police Brigade of the Republic of Srpska was marked by honouring the 17 fallen members of this elite unit of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior that participated in all battlefields in the Republic of Srpska. The Special Police Brigade was decorated on several occasions by the Order of Petar Mrkonjić, the Order of Nemanjići, the Order of Njegoš 1st Class and the Order of Merit for the People.
After laying wreaths at the memorial for the heroes who gave their lives for the Republic of Srpska, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, emphasized the significance of the state for a free and dignified life of the Serbian people and reminded that the total number of 782 members of the Ministry died during the defensive-homeland war.
‘We shall continue where they stopped, since it is our obligation, strength, right and duty – to keep the Republic of Srpska and its peace, for every citizen to live in peace and with dignity in the free Srpska’, Minister Karan pointed out.
‘We are here to bow to the best of us, to remember those who gave us freedom called the Republic of Srpska, and to give eternal recognition and gratitude to everybody who defended the Serbian people during the defensive-homeland war, which had civil, religious and ethnic characteristics’, Minister Karan said.
Minister said that the members of the Ministry of the Interior were proud to follow the path of heroes and added that there were 400 members of families of the fallen employees of the Ministry of the Interior and the Army of the Republic of Srpska, 200 members of families of disabled war veterans and work disabled persons and even more members of the families of police officers.
