| Monday, 23/12/2024
The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior launched today the alert system ”Find Me” for emergency informing of the public in case of a missing child in the Republic of Srpska, and the information about the establishment of the system was broadcasted in all media. The users of telecommunication operator ”M:tel” received SMS messages and the notification was displayed at the Banja Luka Airport and on the highways in the Republic of Srpska.
The formal launch was preceded by a ceremony where the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Siniša Karan, signed cooperation agreements with the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Mr Alen Šeranić, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Nedeljko Čubrilović, the general directors of RTRS, Ms Dijana Milanović, and "M:tel", Ms Jelena Trivan.
Minister Karan emphasized that the priority of the Ministry of the Interior was the safety of children, as well as the prevention of juvenile delinquency, and that their goal was to enhance the actions of the Ministry through the "Find Me" system after receiving information about a missing child, immediately involving the entire community and ensuring that every citizen assists the police officers.
"Our Ministry has the capacity, knowledge, and willingness when it comes to the protection of minors," Minister Karan stated, expressing gratitude to the representatives of the Republic of Serbia for their immense contribution to the development of this system in the Republic of Srpska.
"Children are the most vulnerable part of society, and we must all work together for their safety," Minister Karan said, thanking everyone else who contributed to the activation of this system in Srpska.
"I would be more than happy if we never had to use this system, but as responsible individuals, we must be ready to respond adequately. I am proud that the Republic of Srpska, after Serbia, now has such a system. The effects of the system would be much greater if it were implemented in the other entity, and in all countries of the region. We are at their disposal," said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Radovan Višković, at the "Find Me" system promotion, adding that he hoped the system would deter perpetrators from illegal actions.
Mr Igor Jurić, Director of the Center for Missing and Abused Children, stated that he would demand from the relevant authorities to synchronize the "Find Me" emergency notification system in the Republic of Srpska and Serbia. Mr Jurić pointed that this is an important and very emotional moment for him personally.
The Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Alen Šeranić, said that the activities of his Ministry regarding the "Find Me" system are focused on social protection. "This involves activating social work centers, all databases, and cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior," stated Minister Šeranić, expressing gratitude to all the signatories of the agreements related to the system.
The Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Nedeljko Čubrilović, also thanked everyone who accepted cooperation in the "Find Me" system, noting that all stakeholders took the activities in this important segment seriously.
Ms Dijana Milanović, General Director of Radio-Television of the Republic of Srpska (RTRS), emphasized the importance of recognizing the need to establish such a system as a society. "When it comes to RTRS, we are always at the disposal of Srpska and its citizens. In this project, we will give our best to fulfill what we have committed to in our agreement with the Ministry of the Interior," said Milanović.
Ms Jelena Trivan, General Director of "M:tel", emphasized that the company provided full technological support for this project. "I hope that we will never have to send a message with the content 'find me,' but it is important that the system functions. It took us a long time in Serbia to establish this system, and I congratulate the Republic of Srpska for accomplishing it in just eight months," said Trivan.
The event was attended by representatives of institutions from the Republic of Srpska, public companies, and TV and radio stations in Srpska, who responded to the Ministry’s invitation to be part of the system. Representatives of institutions from Serbia, who provided assistance in establishing this system in Srpska, were also present.
