INTERNATIONAL OPERATION AIMED AT PREVENTING ILLEGAL ARMS TRAFFICKING

The Crime Police Administration of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with the BiH Border Police, Europol and police agencies from Slovenia, France and Spain conducts the operation code-named “CHARON-HITRA“, related to prosecution of an organized criminal group which is engaged in illegal trafficking in firearms and explosives on the territory of the European Union.
The police are currently conducting searches at multiple locations within the areas covered by the Banja Luka and Gradiška police administrations.
The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior initiated the operation back in October 2023, and in the previous period they found and seized a total of 126 pieces of various hand grenades, 25 automatic rifles, one machine gun, one semi-automatic gun, 25 kg of ammunition etc.
These activities once again demonstrate that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior follows and obeys the laws of the Republic of Srpska, and shows its strong commitment to countering international organized crime, and that it is a reliable partner to international counterparts in these efforts.
