CONCLUSIONS OF THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEETING OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR

The security situation on the territory of the Republic of Srpska is in order. So far this year, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has submitted to the competent prosecutor’s offices the total number of 827 reports against 897 persons based on suspicion that they committed the total number of 988 criminal offences. The total number of criminal offences has been reduced by 10.7% compared to the same period in 2024, whereas the coefficient of solved cases committed by an unknown perpetrator was increased by 1.6% - these are the conclusions of the professional staff meeting of the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan.
At the meeting, it was reiterated that, in accordance with the current political-security situation in BIH, the Ministry of the Interior was going to undertake all the measures and activities defined by law with the aim of providing unobstructed implementation of constitutional and legal activities of the institutions of the Republic of Srpska and that full capacities were engaged in providing security to the VIPs and facilities under special protection.
Minister Karan pointed out that the Ministry of the Interior has referred to procedure the Proposal of the amendment to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs and the Proposal of the Law on Border Control of the Republic of Srpska that will define border control and crossing of the state border of BIH on the territory of the Republic of Srpska and that the affairs of border control are performed by the police officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.
The professional staff meeting of the Minister of the Interior invited all the employees of the State Investigation and Protection Agency with permanent residence in the Republic of Srpska to express readiness for transfer to the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, since the deadline for transfer expires today. After that, the Republic of Srpska Government will initiate the procedure for putting out of force the document that allows the transfer. Additionally, it was noted once again that such employees of SIPA who express their readiness to transfer to the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior would have the same amount of income.
